Overawards

Due to the changing nature of financial aid, please be aware that the information posted is subject to change.

Overawards may occur but are not limited to the following reasons:
  • You receive additional aid (examples include, but are not limited to: scholarships, tuition waivers, third party payments, etc.)
  • Your residency status changes
  • Your housing status changes
  • Verification information changes your expected family contribution
  • Your enrollment is below full time enrollment
If one or more of the above situations occur, Financial Aid Services is required to re-evaluate your awards.  Per federal and state regulations or institutional guidelines, financial aid awards may not exceed a student's cost of attendance.  Changes to your award offer may result in a financial obligation to the University of Hawaii.
