To assist students and their families to plan ahead for matriculation at the University of Hawai`i at Manoa, the normative budgets listed below are used to determine the degree of applicants’ need for financial aid, the difference between family resources and the applicants’ status.

The costs above (other than tuition and fees and dorm rates) are based on information from the U.S. Department of Labor and adjusted for Hawai`i’s inflation factor by the Hawai`i State Department of Labor and Statistics. The development of the budget reflects the work of a special UH system-wide Student Budget Committee, and is issued by the Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs.
